How many universities are in the ACT?
The ACT contains campuses from five universities. The region is home to two universities: the Australian National University (ANU) and the University of Canberra (UC). Additionally, three other universities operate significant campuses or facilities in the territory.
1. Australian National University
ANU was part of the original city plans and is located close to the CBD. The university is often ranked among the world’s top 100.
2. University of Canberra
UC was developed as an alternative study destination to ANU and is in the nearby suburb of Bruce. UC tends to specialise in vocational fields such as design arts, health and teaching.
3. Australian Catholic University
ACU offers a range of courses at its Signadou Campus in the suburb of Watson. Programs include Nursing, Social Work, Education (Primary, Secondary, and Special Education), Theology, Occupational Therapy, Paramedicine, Speech Pathology, and Philosophy. 4. UNSW Canberra
